Ken Gibbard would like to host an overnight Voyageur trip on July 6th and return on July 7th camping at his property on Piers Island. We will be leaving in the morning and returning in the afternoon on Sunday. We will leave at around 9 am and return sometime in the early afternoon. If possible I would love to have a night paddle to see the phosphorescence.
We will be staying overnight so having enough camping and cooking gear to make yourself comfortable is important but not too much gear as there is only so much room in a Big canoe. The best would be one large pack bag or one Blue barrel per person. If you have questions I would be more than happy to answer them. All participants must look after their own food and stoves unless some participants want to group so not as much equipment is needed. Ken also mentioned that he would have a two-burner stove people could use. We are limited in area so Ken says that people in single tents may wish to group to conserve space.
The only cost will be to reimburse drivers you commute with and money for the truck to pull the Big Canoe trailer and for parking if that is a cost.
The last day to INDICATE INTEREST IS JUNE 30TH, 2024. Registering expresses interest only. The number of people going will depend on the number of sterns available and the number of tents able to camp on the property. Preference will be given to people who have had prior Big Canoe experience.
