During this meeting we will provide an overview of the itinerary and expected costs associated with the trip.

Since this is a multi-day wilderness camping trip, participants will be expected to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Set up and break down tent
  • Efficiency in packing for a multi-day trip
  • Wilderness cooking skills (e.g. set up/breakdown stove, pre-plan meals for 6 days, cooking using camp stove).
  • How to pour wine and beer.
  • Knowledge of appropriate clothing and layering for multi-day trips - preparedness for all weather, understanding of risks such as hypothermia.
  • Wilderness First Aid (not required, but an asset)
  • Lakewater 1
  • Fitness required for 12 hours of paddling
  • Participants need to be able to help load boats (on trailer) and haul them up the river bank at the end of every day.  Participants need to able to help load boats on the trailer and haul them up the river bank each night.

Note: Due to high winds forecasted on the Gorge there will be no club paddle this Wednesday before this meeting (originally scheduled at the clubhouse). Therefore this meeting has been re-scheduled as a zoom meeting and a zoom link invitation will be sent to all registrants.
