Victoria Canoe and Kayak Club
Running of the Cow-vid – May 1, 2021
Hooray, hooray, the first of May. We’ll paddle the cow from…Stoltz to Duncan”
VCKC’s annual moving water event, Running of the Cow, will be a shortened event this year due to current public health restrictions. The 2021 Running of the Cow-vid is a 1-day event, with a longer single-day run. Sadly, we cannot camp together or share a meal on Saturday night.
Details
- Meet at Serious Coffee, Boys Road, Duncan at 8 am, Saturday May 1
- Launch from Stoltz pool boat ramp at 9:30-ish
Cow-vid Considerations
- Paddlers in tandem canoes should be from the same household
- Maximum of 10 paddlers per group
- Please stay in a group that is within your club
- Shuttles should include mask wearing, open windows, and staying within your own club if possible
All river-ready canoeists and kayakers are welcome – from any club. There is no charge for this VCKC event. We are simply saying hello to each other and celebrating the Cow before she dries up for the summer months.
For your reference, you can link to a Running of the Cow-vid here. Hope to see you there with (cow) bells on.
