Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) course

Registration limit is 6; please email Mary: voyageur@vckc.ca. If there are more than six participants we may add another session from 12:00-2:00pm

Description: This course introduces all the basic skills required to get paddling on a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP). Paddle Canada certified course focused on equipment, safety, paddle strokes, launching and landing your SUP. No experience is required! Includes board, paddle, safety equipment and lots of fun.

Time: 10am - 12pm

Location: Meet on the docks of VCKC

Cost: $5 cash for Paddle Canada Registration, $20 course fee

What to Bring:

- Personal board, paddle and leash (if you have one. If not we will provide these for you!) 

- Immersion wear** 

- Water

- Snack

- Sun protection 

- Change of clothes

- Towel 

- Warm hat

Suggested Clothing Options - for courses and workshops

- Farmer John/Jane wet suit or dry suit or full wetsuit
 - Paddling jacket or dry top or rain jacket (to wear over wet suit)
- Polypropylene underwear - wicks moisture away from skin (to wear under dry suit)
- Light weight and medium weight fleece tops (for layering if temperature changes)
- Neoprene booties
- Teva style sandals with wool socks
- Aqua socks with wool socks
- Fleece or wool toque
- Rain hat and rain pants
- Neoprene gloves or old ski gloves
