Are you interested in learning to control your kayak in current?  Tillicum Bridge provides us with an excellent opportunity March 18, 2017.  Slack current is at about 9 am this day.  We will put in at the clubhouse, and travel with the current under the bridge.  Meet at 9 am, on the water at 9:30.  To participate in this clinic, you must have Paddle Canada level 1 sea kayaking certification.

We will paddle against current until it becomes difficult, and then use the eddy by the dock to enter moving water and learn to turn our kayaks downstream. If time and skill permit, we will also try turning upstream.  Maximum ebb is about 1 pm, and we will carry our kayaks up the hill and back to the clubhouse.  You must wear immersion gear, either wetsuit or drysuit.  Come prepared to have fun!

Prerequisites: Minimum Level 1 Sea Kayak Skills; must be a member of VCKC
